Candidate Statement
We deserve a council whose choices balance the people’s will and a council member's expertise.
It’s the people that make Brisbane great.
It’s the traditions that matter.
These values should be continued for generations to come. Finding the pulse of the community's values comes first and foremost in a position of power, leadership, and, most importantly, service. How we find the inner woven truth creates the fabric of Brisbane. It’s how we find ourselves.
Do you see yourself, your values, and the traditions you wish to share with the generations to come in the decisions being made? This is OUR future. This is our time to actively shape what the future of Brisbane looks like. Your voice, your values, and your traditions matter. Let's come together and make a difference.
My name is Chaya-Bella David, and we have likely volunteered together for over a decade (almost 2!). It may have been raising funds for our library, Ice Cream Socials, official lemonade stands at Concert in the Park, setting up hay bales for Derby Races, through Brisbane Dance Workshop’s many events and performances, volunteering for our schools, and many other treasured Brisbane traditions. As Brisbane’s 1st Youth Volunteer of the Year Award recipient, service to my community has always been a priority.
We can tackle big challenges locally with the same heart, hands, and FUN we do at our events. Contact me to share your vision for Brisbane; I can’t wait to connect more with you.
